PROBLEM STATEMENT
According to UNESCO, about
258 children and youth
worldwide are not attending
school. Action must be taken
to help increase the number of
students who persist and
complete their K-12
education. Economically
disadvantaged students face
disproportionate barriers that
often disrupt their K-12
education path and impact
their social and economic
mobility. Research shows that
Black, Hispanic, and Latino
children are
disproportionately affected by
poverty. The Courage to Bee
will work to provide
economically disadvantaged
students with school supplies,
technology, and skills needed
to receive a quality K-12
education, maintain school
persistence and completion,
and succeed in school and life.
